Self-Talk of Hinduism / Bhagavad Gita

I feel like Arjuna in this comic because I’m doing something I don’t want to do, but I have to do it. Going to school isn’t an ideal thing, but it’s something I have to do to better myself in the future. I can use the Bhagavad Gita to remind me that in the future, whatever I learn and gain in school can help me and maybe others in the future. Indian’s perspective over the Bhagavad Gita is much different than the modern American’s view because ancient Indians will take the book seriously as if it dictates their life. Modern Americans won’t take it seriously because they will believe that technology or other people will accomplish it for them. Thinking back to Ancient India, the Bhagavad Gita could be used as a tool of oppression because it can be turned into a negative way to persuade people to do something. If an ancient Indian said to another ancient Indian “If you don’t grow these crops, you will disrespect the Bhagavad Gita and everyone”. Ancient Indians take the book seriously and will try to oblige to it, as if it’s their bible.

Feng Shui My Room

Before                                             After

I decided to Feng Shui my desk because it was pure chaos and in dire need of an upgrade. It used to be too small, completely cluttered, and impossible to do homework at. This new arrangement honors Chi by allowing it to flow across my desk without being interrupted by any unnecessary objects. It honors the five elements in two ways. It falls under the wood category because of all the rectangular shaped on the desk, and the desk itself. And water, with all the blue colors such as the keyboard, controller, and monitor wallpapers. Finally it honors Bagua in 3 ways. It allows work it be done easier, helps me gain knowledge because it’s easier to work in, and it helps my well-being by removing a complicated desk and replacing it with something much better. This new setup makes me feel more intrigued with my work because I now have space to do it. And, the desk isn’t cluttered, instead it’s much more organized.

The Taoist Walk

The most powerful sensation I experienced on the walk was how calming it was, my mind was completely clear and focused on what was around me. I’ve never been on that path, it was very enjoyable. On the walk I heard the leaves rustling, I smelled the fresh air, I thought of nothing but the nature around me, and I felt stress free. This experience can be compared to Taoism because they’re both focused around experiencing nature and nothing else.

About Me

I am a sixteen years old and a junior. The only sport I do is track. In the future I want to be an architectural engineer and live in Los Angeles when I grow up. My dream vacation would be to go to Dubai.  That’s all.
